Are any of the IL state judges hiring? I've heard they all have career clerks and there aren't any openings anywhere...

basically you are correct.

Hi all! I just accepted a clerkship with a Wisconsin Supreme Court justice, so I am willing to share the information I had collected on the Illinois Supreme Court (but had not acted on given my other judicial clerkship interviews).

Justice Burke stated there MAY be an opening - nothing definite - but would be worth a follow-up call to chambers.

Justice Garman - reviewing resumes in January or February 2007 - wanted a cover letter, undergrad transcripts, law transcripts, and 3 rec letters. Would be worth a call to chambers.

Happy hunting! Best wishes for joining the law clerk ranks!

Kilbride has an opening. He wants people with previous "high appellate level clerkship experience."

I clerked for Kilbride-- he is a great guy. The vast majority of his clerks formerly clerked for justices on the Ill. App. Ct.

New Ill. App. Ct. justice--Zenoff--is looking for clerks, preferably those who just graduated law school; not necessary career clerks, so it'd be good to get in touch if you're interested.
