Other Clerkship Opportunities

If a clerkship is something you really want, there are still opportunities out there.

First , many federal courts still have not hired. Please check this post for information (or contribute to it if you have information).

Second, many state judges have not hired yet. My school refers students to the Vermont Law clerkship guide, which contains info on state clerkships. You need a password, so check with your local career development office and see if they have access to that guide or a similar one. You can also check out the National Center for State Courts. I know that Alaska, for one, has a great Supreme Court and hires later than the dates set forth in the FJLHP.

Third, there are the unconfirmed judges who may not have clerks lined up. I don't have any specific information on these, but here is a list you might start with*:
