RI uses a pool of 15 clerks to serve the Superior, Family and District Courts. The pool is under the "Supreme Court Law Clerk" pool. I am curious who selects/interviews these clerks.
The selection/interview process is technically done through the office of the CJ of the Supreme Court, but he doesn't have much of a hand in it. The CJ's law clerks go through the applications, and a Supreme Court staff attorney does the interviews, and the hiring (though all correspondence comes from the CJ). You are also correct that it is just a trial court clerkship.
I called the dept late last week, they said they hadn't yet begun contacting students for interviews, and that they should begin in "the next few weeks".
As far as I know they haven't started calling. I called and the woman told me the woman in charge of calling and interviewing will be back from vacation on monday. I've been told for the last 3 weeks that they'll be calling "in the next few weeks" or "in a week or so". I assume the calls should begin this monday. Aside from keeping my stomach in knots, this late in the game seems so odd. How many clerks who applied originally are even still available for hire at this stage!
An Original recording of a Lady GaGa Track was Dug Up this evening with no traces of where it came from. Some say that it was found in GaGa's Record Label's headquarters.

Robinson calling
McKenna-Goldberg is done.
Justice Suttell has started interviewing applicants, but does not anticipate extending any offers until November
CJ Williams is done.
Anyone know anything about this "Supreme Court Law Clerk" position that serves the trial courts? Is it something worth looking into?
My understanding was that it was just a trial court clerkship with a name including the word "supreme" in it. Is it actually something different?
