Judge Titus is accepting and considering applications from law school graduates now, and there is some advantage to getting your application in early if you are eligible to do so under the Law Clerk Hiring Plan, but the judge will probably not make any final decisions until early in the official fall clerkship season.
Does anyone know whether any MD judges traditionally give "exploding" offers (i.e., offer at end of interview that must be accepted immediately or lost)?
Motz and Blake said that they like to finish all their interviews before giving offers, and clerks said that they had full days of interviews on Monday and Tuesday, so offers may not be coming for a while yet.

does anyone know if these judges look favorably on candidates coming from a state court clerkship? i am asking b/c i am contemplating taking a state court position and reapplying for federal next year
Blake above is noted as done but is still showing as accepting apps in OSCAR? Anyone know which is right? If done, if a clerk is reading this blog, please change OSCAR to not accepting apps.

Motz and Blake have sent emails and are scheduling interviews starting next Thursday.
Bennett and Legg are also sending emails and making calls, respectively.
What about some of the magistrate judges? Anyone heard from Chasanow?
Chasanow has traditionaly hired in October. She is usually in no rush.
Does Judge Williams in Greenbelt also hire in October?
Any word on Davis or Quarles?
Chasnow called this afternoon.
Did anyone hear from Magistrates Day or Schulze or from Judge Messitte?
Quarles called. Davis is not done reviewing apps.

chasanow called at 12:00 on the dot today. also e-mailed.
Anyone know anything about how Schulze interviews and gives out offers?
Think Messitte is done, and don't think Day, Schultze, Davis, or Geisner has called. Anyone know otherwise?
Is anyone familar with how individual Baltimore judges make their hiring decisions?
Schultze has called/might still be calling...
Schultze called on Friday?
Judge Williams e-mailed Thursday. Judge Titus called Friday. Judge Gauvey called Thursday.
anything on Nickerson?
Nickerson e-mailed on Thurs. a.m. I just heard from a former Davis clerk that he will be making calls today or tomorrow.
Davis made calls today
Who in Greenbelt has hired?
Anyone know how Bennett makes offers? On the spot? Exploding?
Anyone get an offer yet from Motz?
Motz and Blake said that they like to finish all their interviews before giving offers, and clerks said that they had full days of interviews on Monday and Tuesday, so offers may not be coming for a while yet.

Titus in Greenbelt has hired at least one.
Motz has hired at least one.
how many spots does Motz have left?
Any info re Schultze? What the interview/offer process is like? How many clerks hired? Started interviewing? Given offers? Exploding offers?
Motz has hired two.
Anyone have any idea how Quarles hires?
where did motz hire from?
has Day called anyone yet?
Apparently Quarles has completed hiring.
Does anyone know if Chasanow and Williams in Greenbelt are done?
I have an interview w/ Williams tomorrow afternoon--his clerks said he was committed to finish interviewing before hiring.
oooohhhhh. you have an interview, do you? how special . . .
Is there a third Motz hire yet?
Any Blake hires?
Legg has hired at least one.
Thanks for the Williams info. Anyone know about Chasanow?
Blake is done, per a clerk yesterday.
Any word on Bennett?
Bennett only has one opening (he has rotating 2-year clerks); accordingly, he's committed to finishing the interview process before he makes his hire.
Do you know when he is scheduled to finish the interview process?
Per her secretary, Chasanow has not hired yet.
Motz is done.
Titus has hired another one.
Has Legg hired a second person?
Legg is done. Has anyone heard from Chasanow?
Anyone know which schools Legg hired from?
No idea about Legg, except that he did not hire Maryland students. Anyone heard from Williams?
I talked to a few people who interviewed with Chasanow and none have heard anything yet.
Legg hired one from Georgetown... not sure about the second.
Anyone know about Judge Garbis?
Judge Garbis has hired someone.
Has Judge Garbis completed the hiring process?
anything about Day?
anyone heard from gauvey or chasanow?
Per phone call to chambers today, Chasanow has not completed hiring.
Bennett is done.
Any idea which school Bennett hired from? Inquiring minds would like to know!
day interviewed this week and said he is making a decision next week.
Bennett hired from Maryland.
Gauvey and Gesner have hired.

yes, a state court clerkship would likely help.
Williams hired from Harvard and Howard.
A state appellate clerkship evidently doesn't mean much. The source of your degree is probably most important.
Is Garbis done?
Is Garbis done?
Garbis is done.
Any word on Chasanow?
I know of one person who has accepted an offer from Chasanow. I don't know how many she was planning to hire, however.
From where did Judge Garbis hire?
Blake above is noted as done but is still showing as accepting apps in OSCAR? Anyone know which is right? If done, if a clerk is reading this blog, please change OSCAR to not accepting apps.
Is Day finished?
