Last year Ellison contacted recommenders early to express interest in particular applicants, but followed the guidelines in making the actual calls. Not sure about this year.
Judge Ellison is the first to give me the names of the clerks and the schools they attended in my rejection letter. It is handy for knowing what I am up against...
Way to go Ellison. I hope those ivy leaguers get along great down in Texas. I bet they'll contribute a lot to the state and local bars. GOOD FOR YOOOOOOOU!
The Ellison email with the hire names was a first - and very poor form - it was like, look at me, I hired from Harvard and Yale - whatever - and now I bet those folks are getting some emails!!
Clark {SA bankruptcy) is interviewing tomorrow and will continue next Thursday. I don't believe he has contacted everyone. Lynn (FW bankruptcy) is interviewing all day tomorrow. Parker (Tyler bankruptcy) is interviewing this Friday and next Friday.
Hate to do this to yall, but has anybody heard about: Kinkeade, Boyle, Maloney, Smith, Sparks, Biery, Garcia, Ludlum, Junell, Montalvo, Kent, Folsom, Schneider, or Ward?
I talked to Cardone's office last Friday at 430 PM, and she still hadn't decided. Yet, somebody on Saturday says she is done. Is someone saying that a federal judge decided this kind of thing and called you on a Saturday?
Well when i interviewed with Judge Cardone last week, she indicated that she would be making a decision by the end of the week. I took that to mean Friday and I wonder if whomever posted that particular post saying she was done, did so becasue they have not heard by Friday. I assumed that she was done becasue I did not receive a call, but i do think it is weird that i have not received a DING letter yet either, especially if she decided on Friday. Did you call Friday at 430 El Paso time or another time zone?
It's true about Cardone. I just verified, and I gotta say - POOR form in not letting people know by email or post. I guess if you don't get the job, you don't deserve to know unless you ask. Very poor form.
awww...is someone upset about not getting into Harvard or Yale? errr I mean a clerkship? I heard state court in Kansas is still hiring. Perhaps yuo should brush up on your intelligent design?
Always fun to see people try to be clever and witty but still end up looking dumb. (HINT: If you want to make a condescending post, make sure you proof read it before you submit it).
Buchmeyer Crane Folsom Heartfield Jack Koenig Lindsay Ramirez
And to the person who stated "keep your chin up," I got no calls until two weeks into the process, and I now have 3 interviews scheduled (1 state supreme, 1 district court, and 1 federal bankruptcy), so definately keep your chin up (and I only went to the #98 law school, non-Ivy!).
To any perspective clerkship applicants, Judge Jack has a sudden opening for a two-year clerkship in her chambers starting in August 2007. Applicants should apply soon as possible via OSCAR or US Mail.

I think Ellison was just sending notice that he's hiring from Yale and Harvard. Lame.
i concur about ellison, but am not surprised. he's a tad snooty. after all, he is a federal judge :)
Concur on Ellison. Inexplicably poor form. Perhaps the almanac heading noting a lack of common sense on his part is right.
Head has called. Jack too.
Way to go Ellison. I hope those ivy leaguers get along great down in Texas. I bet they'll contribute a lot to the state and local bars. GOOD FOR YOOOOOOOU!
anyone heard if Clark has hired? (Bankruptcy judge in San Antonio)
Does anyone know if Judge Cardone has hired? I know that she has interviewed, but do not know if she hired anyone.

Per FLCIS today, Ludlum has no openings now

Fish is done.
awww...is someone upset about not getting into Harvard or Yale? errr I mean a clerkship? I heard state court in Kansas is still hiring. Perhaps yuo should brush up on your intelligent design?
Wow. That last post just exemplifies why I cannot wait to get away from the majority of my law school classmates.
From a non-spiteful, non-Ivy Leaguer: Congratulations to those who have gotten clerkships, chin up to those who haven't (yet).
Always fun to see people try to be clever and witty but still end up looking dumb. (HINT: If you want to make a condescending post, make sure you proof read it before you submit it).
any updates on
Buchmeyer
Crane
Folsom
Heartfield
Jack
Koenig
Lindsay
Ramirez
And to the person who stated "keep your chin up," I got no calls until two weeks into the process, and I now have 3 interviews scheduled (1 state supreme, 1 district court, and 1 federal bankruptcy), so definately keep your chin up (and I only went to the #98 law school, non-Ivy!).
Jack is still looking to fill her one vacancy.
To the one who advised another to "make sure you proof read it before you submit it," the correct spelling is "proofread." Its one word.
And next time I'll put an apostrophe too...the point is, IT'S just a blog!!!

T. John Ward is done hiring.
Bankruptcy Judge Leif Clark, in San Antonio, TX, has selected his clerk.

To any perspective clerkship applicants, Judge Jack has a sudden opening for a two-year clerkship in her chambers starting in August 2007. Applicants should apply soon as possible via OSCAR or US Mail.
Does anyone know anything about some of the Magistrates in Texas with openings: Arce-Flores (S.D), Love (E.D.), Koenig (N.D.), etc?
