Does anyone know if Judge Gleeson gives exploding offers? I made my interview in the afternoon of the 21st and now I'm worried that may be too late.
According to his clerk, he isn't going to give any offers until after all the interviews on the 21st.

Does anyone know if Judge Gleeson already interviewed/scheduled interviews with grads?
I read on one of my school's "secret" internal files that Sweet does not typically give exploding offers; however, the clerk noted that his particular offer was exploding because it was the last one and there was more or less a guy waiting in the wings for an interview.
I don't believe Sweet gives exploding offers but does make offers on the spot. I base this on the fact that last year he gave an offer to an applicant and continued with interview process, which signals that he was willing to keep that first offer open and interview others in case the applicant rejected the offer.

On the Koetle interview, be prepared to say that you are not scared of the long hours. His clerks learn a lot but they work really hard. (Long hours, six days a week, almost no holidays.) Last year he asked personal questions(but by no means inappropriate ones), as opposed to law-based questions.

you should feel free to call judges chambers. i have -- it turns out that many aren't interviewing (already hired), and that many others have already filled up interview slots (just not listed here). some are waiting out the process; but honestly, not many in the SDNY or EDNY.

I got a call from Weinstein at about 2:30. He is doing interviews next Thurdsay through the following Tuesday.
last october, batts hired at least one, and if i recall two, two-year clerks. so don't hold your breath on that one.
I got what seemed like a form email from Batts earlier this week asking me to confirm by the end of the day Wednesday that I was aware that the clerkship was for two-years. Not sure what that means...
Woods called around 6pm today to schedule an interview for next week. So all hope is not lost even in SDNY.

So I just called Weinstein's Chambers and they said he hasn't even started making calls yet and won't be interviewing next week. Can you all confirm that you received calls from Jack Weinstein in the EDNY?
Really? I hope this is true...and if so, thanks a lot to those who said he had already called.
well, it would help if someone else would call Weinstein's chambers too to confirm this. It just doesn't make any sense (why would people lie about hearing from him?)
Has anyone heard from any EDNY judges not mentioned here? (Korman, Amon, Johnson, any of the magistrates, etc).
It is equally troubling that someone would lie about getting a call from Weinstein or that someone would lie about calling and finding out there have been no calls!
I just saw this string of posts (but have not yet posted). My law school roommate received a call from weinstein around 1:45 yesterday. She is interviewing with him Monday morning (the 25)but only because she is going to be out of town before then. Hope that helps clear up some confusion

I also got a call from Weinstein. He is interviewing starting next Thursday. I really doubt that someone in his chambers said hadn't made any calls...

Patterson called a little before 4 PM today.
No - I am not lying. I had a long talk with the woman who answered the phone at his Chambers and she said that Weinstein hadn't even begun reviewing applications yet, let alone making phone calls. I stated that I'd heard he was making calls, and scheduling interviews, and she said that she was the one who made the calls for him, and she definitely had not made any yet. All of this is very, very weird.
Korman's done hiring. Really - the best thing to do is to call Chambers. I did it today for about 20 judges and it turned out that most of the people I'd applied to finished hiring before yesterday! Very frustrating.

Does anyone know if Koeltl tends to make offers on the spot? If so, are they exploding? Non-exclusive?
Last year, when I interviewed with Koeltl, he said he did not give offers on the spot. But, then again, I didn't get an offer on the spot or otherwise so things might be different for his top candidates. Seriously, though, don't balk when he asks you about the hours (they're long) and be prepared to answer open ended questions like, "so tell me about yourself."

Oscar sent an email from Weinstein saying he was done hiring, and he was sorry he couldn't interview/hire everyone.

Yeah - I interviewed with Daniels last week as well and he seemed to indicate perhaps early October. At least that is what I am going on since I haven't heard. Good luck! Let us know if you hear anything.

Re: Daniels. Mine was about 20 minutes, as was the woman's interview who went before me. I think that is just his shtick (I hope). I wouldn't take that as an indication either way.
if judges aren't hiring on the spot, does anyone know approximately how long they take to make an offer after an interview? (and if you don't get an offer will you get a letter or something?)
