Katzmann is done for 07-08 but interviews for 08-09 (but prefers a dist clerkship before).

Winter is calling now to set up interviews for the week of 9/11.

Anonymous said...

Winter is interviewing 3Ls.

Anonymous said...

Wesley was calling last week ... actually, one of his clerks is calling to do a prelim interview over the phone to "get a sense of what kind of person you are."

Anonymous said...

Re: wesley ... that was, of course, regarding law school grads.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Sotomayor called and emailed at noon.

Anonymous said...

Leval has called.

Anonymous said...

any word on walker?

Anonymous said...

is anyone still getting calls from judges? or is the madness over?

Anonymous said...

walker has started calling

Anonymous said...

what happens if a Circuit judge has not called? Do the Distict Judges call later?

Anonymous said...

district court judges are already calling. look under district court section.

Anonymous said...

has jacobs called?

Anonymous said...

jacobs has called.

Anonymous said...

do any judges "wait" out the flurry of the first day and call later?

Anonymous said...

On a note related to the last post -- should we assume that if we haven't been called yet that we're dinged?

Anonymous said...

J. Hall called.

Anonymous said...

I would assume that if you haven't heard from a 2nd circuit appellate judge by now, that you almost certainly won't hear. They're all moving fast. I just talked to a clerk (at 3pm) and took the last slot for a judge -- though I got the initial cal 3 hours ago.

Anonymous said...

has anyone heard from newman?

Anonymous said...

Anyone know if Leval still has slots?

Anonymous said...

I didn't get a call from one of the 2d Cir judges, called at 3:30, and got myself an interview. So it is possible.

Anonymous said...

anyone had a second circuit judge tell them on the phone to do a district court clerkship first?

Anonymous said...

if so what does that mean- that they dont think you are ready now? they want to put off hiring you until 2008?

Anonymous said...

Katzmann typically requires his clerks to do district court clerkships first (but hires them two years out).

Anonymous said...

any info on which 2d circuit judges give exploding offers?

Anonymous said...

anyone know if Walker gives exploding offers?

Anonymous said...

for those who got interviews with 2nd circuit judges, how many did you get and with whom?

Anonymous said...

Anyone here from Cardamone?

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know how many spots Sotomayor has available?

Anonymous said...

Any word on Calibresi -- how may spots are still open?

Anonymous said...

How come there have been no updates here? have all of the judges hired?

Anonymous said...

Anyone heard from Newman? Has he hired anyone? Is he interviewing still?

Anonymous said...

is welsey done?

Anonymous said...

Hellerstein is done

Anonymous said...

Wesley is not done, but is not making any more calls to schedule interviews.

Anonymous said...

raggi is done hiring

Anonymous said...

Judge Calabresi is done hiring

Anonymous said...

sorry, that last one was meant as a question, i know nothing of Calabresi's hirings. Any word on Calabresi?

Anonymous said...

Anyone hear from Katzmann?

Anonymous said...

Katzmann made his offers in the morning, and cancelled his afternoon interviews.

Anonymous said...

pooler completed hiring.

Anonymous said...

Calabresi is done.

Anonymous said...

Sotomayor's chambers say she's done.

Anonymous said...

That's not true, I know Katzmann had afternoon interviews.

Anonymous said...

so has anyone actually heard from katzmann or not?

Anonymous said...

Katzmann made at least two offers before noon yesterday.

Anonymous said...

Has Wesley made any offers yet?

Anonymous said...

Katzmann was full by late Thursday morning.

Anonymous said...

Wesley is full.

Anonymous said...

can anyone verify that pooler has completed hiring?

Anonymous said...

Any word on Walker? Is he done?

Anonymous said...

walker is done hiring.

Anonymous said...

Any 2d Cir judges still hiring?

Anonymous said...

Pooler completed hiring Thursday afternoon. Hired some for 08-09 as well.

Anonymous said...

Katzmann definitely cancelled his afternoon interviews, and made all of his offers (which were accepted) in the morning. All of his clerks are accounted for.

Anonymous said...

Hall is still hiring.

Anonymous said...

Can we all agree to start sharing information about who ended up hiring from where? I know that Katzmann hired an NYU student (prosecutorial gunner), as did Calabresi (the EIC of the LR). Anyone know anything else?

Anonymous said...

Katzmann also hired from Harvard and Columbia.

Anonymous said...

Sack, Calabresi, Cabranes (08-09), Sotomayor, Jacobs, Pooler, and Walker each hired one from Yale.

Anonymous said...

Any word on Newman? Over at Greedy Clerks they disagree on how many clerks Newman takes these days, 1 or 2?

Anonymous said...

Calabresi hired at least one from Harvard.

Anonymous said...

Calabresi hired one from NYU, one from Penn, one from Harvard, and one from Yale.

Anonymous said...

Walker hired one from the University of Texas.

Anonymous said...

Cabranes (08-09) actually hired 2 from Yale. Wesley also hired 1 from Yale.

Anonymous said...

Newman takes two clerks. I heard he is done hiring.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone heared anything about Miner in Albany?

Anonymous said...

Anyone heard anything on Hall (Rutland)?

Anonymous said...

Did chambers tell you Newman takes 2 clerks and has hired both?

Anonymous said...

any updates on who hired from where?

Anonymous said...

Why does it matter?

Anonymous said...

Newman has only one clerk this year. Don't know if he has plans to change for next, but I'd doubt it.

Anonymous said...

Cabranes hired two from Yale for 08-09. He has completed hiring.

Anonymous said...

Where did Sotomayor hire from?

Anonymous said...

Wesley hired a Yale, a Penn and an Iowa. His fourth (Jan-Dec) was already filled.

Anonymous said...

In response to the question about Miner in Albany, he wasn't going to be hiring for 2007 at all.

Anonymous said...

If Pooler is done, please change your status in OSCAR to not accepting apps.....

Anonymous said...

"Cabranes hired two from Yale for 08-09. He has completed hiring."
- how is this possible if the 2L's graduating in 08 cannot even set up interview until September? Am I misunderstanding this?

Law Clerk Addict said...

Some judges break the hiring plan. Also, judges do not need to heed the hiring plan if they are hiring law school graduates rather than current students.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone heard from Straub? How many positions does he have open?
