Pryor is currently interviewing clerks. Maybe he hasn't filled all of his spots?

I was under the impression that Pryor had hired one district court clerk. How are you/we sure that he is done?

Why do you peoople care what schools a judge hired from? Get a life. Oh, and stop calling chambers, I'm sick of answering the friggin' phone every 5 minutes. Go bug the state court judges and leave us alone.

I fail to see how you got a clerkship with your attitude. I have the good fortune to be getting a circuit clerkship and will be delighted to answer the phone as needed. You seem to forget that you would have asked teh same questions last year at this time.
Best of luck to you, and please, for your own sake, hide the arrogance when you get to whatever firm you are going to - it won't play well even if you did have a circuit clerkship.

My take is that people who who didn't get hired want to be able to say either (a) "That judge only hires from schools that are ranked above mine, and that's why I didn't get a clerkship (the a**hole)" or (b) "At least he didn't hire from schools ranked lower than mine."

And Carnes and Anderson each hired at least one from Emory.
I'm not sure Fay is done. His secretary said he's in NC (and not reviewing applications) until October.

I think the curiosity about where judges hire from doesn't necessarily come from such self-affirming instincts. Rather, it's just an attempt to gather data so that one can assess whether one had targeted one's applications and expectations appropriately, and also to help future students from that school gauge their chances in subsequent cycles (to the extent such information is passed down from class to class at one's school).

heard barkett didn't make a decision today because she was out of the office all day.
Cox was supposed to have had interviews through at least Wednesday (maybe beyond). I don't know that he's hired anyone, so may want to call chambers.
