Dennis is interviewing
Clement, Smith, Wiener, and Davis (and possibly others) have been interviewing during the month of August.
Benavides is interviewing
Smith has hired a Texas clerk.
Smith has hired 3 out of 4 already.
Dennis has hired one but still has three more spots (1 one-year and 2 two-year clerks).
smith has one offer outstanding (i.e., the applicant has not accepted)
Any news on Higginbtham?
He is now senior. He is also following the plan, so I assume people should hear on Thursday.

Jones is calling offering phone interviews. What does that mean for offers? I wonder if she schedules them before next week?

Most 5th circuit judges only hire from Princeton.

Princeton law only reveals itself to the truly elite. No wonder you have never heard of it.

Has anyone heard anything about whether Reavley, King or Dennis is interviewing before next Thursday?
King was interviewing as of late last week and Monday and Tuesday of this week.

King isn't interviewing current law students until Thursday

Jones follows the timeline. She's called everyone she wants, but she's not done hiring.
Do you know anything about Jones's interviews? Quiz or get-to-know you? Does give interviews on the spot, day of? When does she make decisions?

i'd like to rant about some judges' practice of inviting people to travel--at their own expense--only to cancel last minute. i had an interview with a judge scheduled for later in the day, and at 12:45 the chambers called to tell me all spots were taken. personally, i think that's a little disrespectful. the judge should visit with all candidates he/she invited before making decisions. that's all.

Re: Judges making you travel at your own expense, only to cancel at the last minute: Fifth Circuit judges seem particularly prone to do this. Don't know why, but I agree it's in bad taste.

Contrary to the "she" referred to in the September 24 post, Barksdale is a male.
Smith is finished. He did his interviews in August, because he does not follow the voluntary hiring plan.

I know that Clement and Jones each hired at least one from Notre Dame.

Just to clarify, Stewart is not done!! He is not considering you if you have not already heard from him though. He has extended two offers and has not yet decided which of his interviewees will get the third spot.
